The Town of Granby is located in Hartford County, North Central Connecticut near the Massachusetts border. It was settled in 1644 as a northeast district of Simsbury. In 1736 the Salmon Brook Society was set off as an independent parish which became the present day Granby, and was subsequently incorporated in 1786. The town has been primarily an agricultural community throughout is history. Today Granby retains much of it rural charm.
